Viña Cobos makes wines that naturally express the terroir from which they come. Paul Hobbs, founding partner and winemaker of Viña Cobos, has been working since 1988 in the exploration of the different terroirs of Mendoza, looking for the most outstanding regions within Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco, for the elaboration of unique wines.
A sustainable management of the vineyard allows to achieve balanced harvests and high quality fruit, from there a careful treatment of the grapes and a meticulous production process, gives rise to complex and elegant wines, of great subtlety and balance. Since the first harvest of Cobos Malbec in 1999, Viña Cobos has marked a milestone in viticulture, challenging the limits of quality to place Argentina next to the great producers of the world. Currently its prestige is recognized by both critics and consumers around the world.
The Malbec from the Rebón vineyard is attractive and complex. It has an excellent ruby red color and aromas of red fruit, blackberry jam and a fresh touch of violet and herbs, caramel, dried figs and a touch of anise. In the mouth it has good structure, it is round, elegant and with good concentration; it has firm tannins and a noticeable minerality. It is a fresh wine in the mouth, with a good finish.

Varietal composition: 100% Malbec
Appeal: Villa Bastías. Tupungato, Uco Valley
Vineyard: Rebon Estate, at 1015 meters above sea level. Very homogeneous cord pruning, with a highly developed root system that is distributed throughout the profile. Traditional furrow irrigation. This wine comes from vines less than 20 years old.
Soil: sandy loam. Medium-sized particles in the upper layers, increase their granulometry in depth
Aging and bottling: aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels (55%) in combination with second-use oak barrels (45%). Bottled in December 2017. Without clarifying or filtering.
Tasting notes: attractive nose, exuberant but elegant. Notes of cherry and ripe plum stand out with layers of graphite and white chocolate. In the mouth it is round and wide, with sweet tannins. Sweet and persistent finish.
