It is located at the foot of the Andes Mountains, in the heart of Valle de Uco, one of the main wine-growing areas of Argentina: 120 km from the city of Mendoza, Vista Flores, Tunuyán, within the group of properties of Clos de los Siete.

    The property comprises 130 ha at an altitude between 1,000 and 1,200 meters above sea level in Vista Flores, Tunuyán, 120 km south of the city of Mendoza. Its lands with slopes oriented to the North and East have the best sun exposure in the Southern Hemisphere. The construction of the winery began in early 2001, with the first harvest in 2002.

    On a total area of ​​8,500 m2, Monteviejo has a gravitational system with a double belt for selecting bunches and grains. Its objective is to transport the raw material without the use of pumps, taking care not to damage it in any part of the process. From the harvest to the fractionation, passing through the draining of the wine from the vats into the aging barrels, the wine follows its natural slope. Only the force of the weight of the grape is used to move it up and down.


    VARIETY: 100% Cabernet Franc

    LOCATION OF THE VINEYARDS: Valle de Uco, Mendoza.

    ALTITUDE: 1,100 m. s. n. m.

    SOIL: Silty loam of alluvial origin, with gravels in the subsoil and calcareous sediments.

    HARVEST: Manual in small plastic boxes of 12 kg.

    VINIFICATION: cold maceration is carried out at 7 ° C for 5 days. Then the alcoholic fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels.

    AGING: 70% of the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels of 2nd and 3rd use of 225 liters. Later it rests in the bottle for 6 months.


    TASTING NOTES: Deep in color with purple hues, very bright. Great varietal typicity and species are appreciated. It is a wine with an expressive center in the mouth, great balance and complexity from the aging. It is deep and elegant, so it lingers on the palate, it has a long finish.

    SUGGESTED PAIRING: it is recommended to accompany hard cheeses, stews and red meats.
